Blue Thunder (1984)

Blue Thunder, a 1984 ABC series inspired by the film of the same name, revolves around a high-tech helicopter designed for law enforcement. Utilizing the Aérospatiale Gazelle helicopter and incorporating extensive stock footage from its cinematic predecessor, the show features a support unit called "Rolling Thunder," which includes a camouflaged ground vehicle. Starring James Farentino, Dana Carvey, and former NFL players Bubba Smith and Dick Butkus, the series struggled against CBS's Airwolf and the popular soap Dallas, leading to its cancellation after just eleven episodes.
