Toxic Crusaders (1991)

Toxic Crusaders brings the beloved character Toxie from The Toxic Avenger films into a colorful animated world where he leads a band of eccentric superheroes dedicated to fighting pollution. Reflecting the era's environmental consciousness, the show aligns with other kid-friendly series like Captain Planet and the Planeteers. However, it tones down the darker elements of its film origins to cater to a younger audience. The series aired thirteen episodes, with a few debuting during a test run in the summer of 1990 before its official premiere on January 21, 1991.
